  • Did a PNP on this but was not expecting much due to it being way beyond its recommended drink by date. And it did not surprise - it was pretty bad, dominated by acidity and little fruitiness. Rather than dumping it I pulled the air out after a few hours and set it aside on the countertop. Three days later l took a last-chance pour. What a difference! It now had a fairly well-defined, dark fruity nose and mid palate, punctuated with a really nice tannic finish (its best feature). The excess acidity had all but evaporated. Only wish I'd got to try it years ago.

  • Served in Lufthansa Business Class July 2014. Outstanding. Vibrant rich fruit with a hint of toasty oak in the background. Rich mouthfeel but it's light on its feet. Satisfying finish. Terrific wine. Great value.

  • The value that this wine represents is undeniable. Few wines at this price point come close. Nuances of dried fruit, minerals, and well integrated tannins provide an enjoyable drinking experience. Nothing too complex, but a heck of an everyday wine to pair with grilled meats.
