Marvelous wine. Deep, jammy pour with lump-thick legs. Nice balance of fruit and earth in the nose with a rosy dryness that heralds the tannic girth. Chewy and bright at the same time with flavors of strawberry, cherry, currants, earth, nutmeg, and a touch of cheese and stone before the tannins suck it all up into a just slightly abrupt ending. So it needs time in the bottle, for sure--I'd bet that it might improve even behind 2019. But I'm glad I had it now…already worth a taste.

This wine is tough as nails. Really seriously firm tannis, stands its ground. One for the cellar, or for roast top sirloin on the bone.
