  • Good but the acid and tannin are exaggerated at this point and it's lost too much fruit to be taken too seriously. Firmly on the second side of the hill.

  • On its last legs but by no means done. In a graceful plateau period, this wine was like a dapper silver fox compared to the brash, energetic Quintarelli valpolicellas of younger vintages. Could have been mistaken for mature Brunello at first. Air brought out more of the signature Quintarelli nose. Neat bottle.

  • Stood bottle up for weeks, but little sediment was decanted off. Lovely, graceful, excellent Valpolicella, with a red bouillabaisse. The complexity was on display from first to last glass. Red fruit, strawberry, subtle sottobosco poured out of the bottle. Expansive silky mouthfeel, a deliciously red fruity palate and finish. A wow wine in a dreamy, easy way.

  • Chadderdon closeout. Very light red with a pale rim; nose is a complex mix of tart red fruit, strawberry, subtle sweetness, and autumnal influence in a Burgundian profile; seamless mouthfeel, light on its feet with good acid, and a deliciously fruity midpalate; ageless in the same way a gran reserve Rioja seems to be; completely Quintarelli in style; a subtle wow wine- especially when you see the vintage.
