Helping a friend with a north-east Italian Wine List; 4/3/2014-4/10/2014 (TBD): Purple in color, slight ruby. Black cherries on the nose with green bell pepper. Nice acidity. It seems under ripe. I am told it is very hot where this is made, so perhaps the vines just shut down (or maybe picked on the early side).

Very oaky. Went perfectly with steak. Under the vanilla oak was deep, dark fruit.
