  • Clearly original “issue” cork pushing 30 years (Roland era); surprising full garnet color; pleasing dark secondary fruit, richness, ample acidity and just the lightest dusting of mostly resolved tannins. Excellent length for a “simple” village wine. I can’t remember a Remoissenet bourgogne that didn’t have some cuvee designation like “Royals Club”, “Reserve”, “Tradition” or (in this case) Renommee. There have forever been rumors that something beyond village AC bourgogne fruit went into the cuvee. The ‘78 Royals Club (on good authority) included substantial amounts of declassified overcropped gran crus and my substantial experience in drinking them finds that to be totally credible. These Renommee appear to be something along those lines. Excellent. 92+

  • No formal notes. Light red/amber colour. Mature flavours, fruit pinot fruit, tobacco, no tannins, good acidity, light body. Drinking perfectly right now. Very good.
