  • Moscatel. From Coravin into Impitoyable glass; 13 pabv. Cutting Edge Selections, Mariemount, O. and Dorothy Lane Market (Washington Commons), Kettering, OH. About $25/375 ml. Good green-tinged yellow, but color is not too deep for comfort. Raw petroleum or lanolin, fresh apricots, and tea open on the nose. Vivid acid to well balance the considerable residual, then a merest hint of bitter orange; enough white tannins to give texture in the mid palate; perhaps at first just a touch of heat on the finish which I'm betting will integrate. Excellent value; drinking well now and into 2030.

  • had with a bit of fois. Tastes like the tropical pacific, shave ice of all flavours, smell of tropical flowers, frozen honeydew, heavenly. I will buy this again and drink it very cold on a hot beach.....tomorrow?

  • Night 1 - pure baby fat, showing just big fat sticky sweet and little else but the stuffing was there so I set it aside and hoped for it to come together - 89
Night 3 - Acidity has taken its place front and center and mellows the big time sweet of the sticky. This wine could compete with some of heavy hitters from Sauternes and if I were to taste it blind I would without question peg it as such. Fantastic and a complete joke at the $16 price tag - 92+.

  • Outstanding. This is truly next level wine. Pours pale yellow into the glass, yellower than a sav blanc, paler than a riesling. Floral-honeysuckle-almost like a good rotting flower or orange blossom. Inviting, but thick.
Upon first taste, there is a touch of acid but this explodes into a full palate covering of lusciousness. The balance between the sweet and sour is sublime. It literally hovers above your tongue, and like a freshman year bong-rip, you never want to let it go. Finish is long and smooth and seems to last minutes after you put the glass down.
I wish they made this in a 750ml bottle.
As far as a listening note, this is the end jam to the 11/2/96 Harry hood. Soaring trey, like the sweetness and the florals, while the rest of the band creates the structure that keeps those tripped out kids in dance mode, like the acidity.
    I'd hit it.
