Really just a very enjoyable Syrah that kept me going back for more, especially on day two. Smoky and feral at first, after an hour it entered an awkward foggy phase, possibly due to the weather being stormy and humid outside. On day two, the wine was more focused and less suave, peppery, cooler tasting.

Au Domaine de Ferrand avec Philippe Bravay (Chateauneuf-du-Pape): This Cotes du Rhone is very surprising. Made only of Syrah, it is another exercise for Philippe Bravay, who decided to create something fresh yet not similar to a Northern Rhone Syrah. "I have neither of the terroir nor of the weather. I am looking for something intriguing, which may surprise in a blind tasting." This very good effort is, regretfully, very limited in availability.

Pleasant red and black fruit but marred by oak. Not on the buy again list.
