In a line-up of 3, 2010, 12, and 14. They were all just about the same color, medium dark yellow; this one had rich, slightly aged chard notes of caramel, dark honey, hazelnut, apricot pie crust kind of thing; in the mouth med full, attenuated acidity, a bit flabby but concentrated and full flavored with a nice finish. Probably 2-3 years past its prime but still very interesting and lots to enjoy. EWG chard/cabs dinner Glendora CC.

Mid straw. Initially quite tropical with pineapple notes on the nose nd a richish palate. Tightens and shows more minerality with air but retains the richness without an awful lot of cut or line. A good food wine (richly-sauced chicken in this case), but one would tire of its company otherwise. ***1/2

A Mix at Irene's (Irene's House, St. Paul): Medium gold color. PNP, drank a glass over 90 minutes. Toffee, pear confit, white flower tones, apricot on the nose. The palate shows as quite mature, baked apple, mulled spices, saddle leather, tart lemon on the back end, full bodied. Not showing the freshness now. Probably time to go.

PNP. Deep lemon and stone fruit nose, with some spice accents. Rich palate, moderate acidity and some creamy citrusy fruit.

Dinner at Irene's: There are oxidative notes along with golden fruit. Really good complexity but this was fresher a year or two ago. Time to drink up.
