  • Something wrong with it. Tried corking and waiting another day but didn’t help. Fairly bland with an odd back end aftertaste. Dumped it.

  • Tasted at a Kobrand event in NYC. This is dark garnet, almost opaque. A huge wine with high acid and medium tannin, still in need of bottle age. Lots of layered and secondary flavors and aromas like dried fruit, noteable minerality, cedar in addition to the usually plum, and cherries and some vanilla and hazelnuts on the moderately long finish. Long life ahead for this one.

  • Very dense, opaque black-red color with more pale blood red rim. Rich, sweet and plummy nose with complex aromas of raisins, prunes, some perfumed floral notes, a little bit of alcohol, a hint of cocoa and a touch of cherry liqueur. The wine is very full-bodied, opulent and hot on the palate with dry, concentrated flavors of sour cherries, peppery spice, some sweeter plums and prunes at the tip of the tongue, a little bit of leather and a hint of sweet oak spice. The wine feels very robust and dry for an amarone, emphasized by its noticeably bitter amaro character and firm, grippy tannins. The moderately high acidity keeps the wine surprisingly balanced, despite the rather monolithic body. The finish is long, grippy and complex with persistent flavors of ripe, dark-toned berries, bitter sour cherries, earthy spice, some meaty tones, a little bit of prunes and a hint of peppery spice.

A very big and impressive Cru Amarone with hefty body and structure to back it up. Loads of power and flavor here with aging potential for years - even decades - to come. Feels a bit more austere and less complex than the stunning Campolongo di Torbe, which remains one of the greatest Amarones I've ever had. Not among the greatest Amarones I've had, but still pretty impressive effort nevertheless. I can imagine this one will get pretty damn great after enough cellaring.

  • Dark brick red. Black currants. Complex and full body with a lot of oak. It is closed down now and need more cellar time. This has a lot of potential.

  • Roasted nut, tar, bitter chocolate, mineral and leather nose. Assertive palate with hot alcohol; very good length with leathery, raisined flavours.
