Weekly tasting group #054; A fully blind test. (@ DJ): Very light transparent red and hardly any bouquet. On the palate special and not very outspoken; some autumn impressions, a fair amount of acidity and mild tannin. An ok wine, but nothing really special. Maybe it will improve a bit with a few years of ageing; so around 2015.

Translucent, light ruby-orange already tending to garnet. Dark florals, leather and a bit of spice on the nose. Pleasantly dry on the palate with dusty fruit and no overt oak. Traditionally styled and approachable despite its youth. A bit rustic, but certainly not quite so tannic as many of its Langhe brethren. Drunk at Trattoria Toscana, Boston.

Very nice for the price. Went well with roasted ports bells & eggplant starter and Tuscan meatloaf with red pasta
