  • Sometimes when the quarter shipment of a wine club arrives, the reaction is more of a “meh” instead of an “oh, boy!” The arrival of this wine a couple of years back was definitely a “meh” moment. Down to the cellar it went, relegated a the back of bin, behind other wines and left until one of those days came along where I’m struck with, “oh, might as well drink this, I guess” sort of moment. New Year’s Day was that sort of day. The nose is rich with ground cloves, teaberry, black cherry and even a little violet. The flavors track the bouquet precisely and fully. The deep color suggests an opulence that frankly, I just didn’t expect. For a blended wine at the $20 price point (wine club price), this wine delivers. This is a pleasant surprise. Not a grain of sediment. 13.8% alc. With ham, cheeses and salumi. Recommended.

  • Lovely. Classic Sta. Rita hills fruit with notes of cherry, raspberry, vanillin, soft tannins. Unctuous mouthfeel, respectably long finish. Pleasure to drink.

  • Very good pinot noir with a good balance and complexity. Bitter in the palate which I love when a pinot has been made in the right way!
