89: Super dark, opaque purple, almost black, with only a tinge of translucency along the edges. The cork was in good shape, stained a beautiful purple, but also caked with a lot of sediment. The jammy bouquet traveled the room before the first pour was done. Lots of thick legs on the twirl. Very drinkable right out of the bottle, but give this an hour or so and it develops a decent complexity with hints of tobacco peeking through the spiced plum and dark cherry leads. This is no Argentine Malbec, but it makes a good showing in the category. The finish starts and remains a bit astringent but is otherwise pleasant. It's not clear if further cellaring would make much difference, so it's probably time to drink up if you have any left.

This is dark. Glass-coating dark. On the nose is (not surprisingly) dark fruit, with some chalkiness and tinge of alcohol. On the palate, it was a bit astringent at first, but after about 1.5 hours of air, things have fallen into balance - and while the wine is still quite grippy and drying on the finish, the fruit is able to shine through with mostly plums and darker berry fruit. The finish is of good length, but again the alcohol spikes a bit on the finish, detracting from what would otherwise be quite appealing. I'd recommend a bit more time in bottle on this one.

fine full body Malbec. Probably will keep the others a bit longer before we drink.

Not as good as expected but nice wine none the less. A bit pricey though.
