  • This bottle was dead on arrival. Past peak and not showing anything beyond dull secondary flavors and aromas.

  • The cork was soaked nearly all the way through, and a bit of mold had started growing on top of it. I wasn't sure what to expect. Aromas of aged leather, roasted nuts, herbs, dirt, and wild strawberry. On the palate it's so smooth and rich, like velvet dusted with spices. There's such a depth and complexity, all sorts of flavors roiling about across your tongue. Dry, dusty earth mixes with red berries and dried cherry, touches of salted meat and peppercorn come into play as well. The finish evaporates with this gorgeous effect, like a cloud lifting away from my tongue. Impressive.
