Deep medium ruby color. Lots of secondary complexity happening on the nose- black pepper, anise, cassis, tea leaf, crushed stone, violet. The fruit has emerged nicely and is open and full- black cherry and cassis, draped seamlessly with black olive, dark spice and mineral notes. Fleshy smooth tannins, nicely balanced medium acidity, with length on the finish. Excellent.
Deep rich color to the rim. Strong bold legs. Elegant and belies the 14.5 ABV. Silky smooth on the palate with dark chocolate, fruit and tobacco. Palate while big was not over bearing. Just a great pleasant wine with good full mouth feel and some oak. Balanced acidity and tannins.
