  • Nice fresh nose of pomelo , hay and fresh melon juice. Mouth surprising by its richness (relatively to this harsh jura region), with baked apples, a kind of bitter caramel, ending on butterscotch notes. It is more wide than long; the substance is great. I think it is time to drink it, it has the mark of this hot vintage, Excellent but quite specific, has to be served with and adequate dish.

  • This is from Domaine Labet (not Juilien) and is marked "Chardonnay Ouille). For some reason I cannot change these datails in the Cellartracker database.

Deep, golden yellow looks like a much older wine. I guess the hot vintage has something to do with this. Rich, expansive palate with cooked apples and flowers - somewhat Chenin-like. Oily, rich, unctuous texture with honey and alcohol yet it is vibrant. However the dominating flavors tend oxidized, nutty, fino-like characteristics. There is a lot going on here - no sure if this vintage is made for aging but it is certainly very intriguing now.

  • Tasted after opening. Straw yellow color. Nose very fresh, minerality, intense yellow lemon, citrus, a little ether and sulfur. Mouth very fresh and lively, strong acidity, but some generosity also, grapefruit, fresh almond, little oak. Bitterness that lasts on the tong. After one hour, some green apple/quince appears. Oak still there. A beautifull wine, a lot of personnality, already good to drink, a bottle that will make you prefer Chardonnay from Jura and forget Burgundy...
