  • Pleasant and round but evolved and lacking any acidity - I am afraid the curtain has to be drawn on this one....

  • Golden yellow. Apples, pears and light oxidisation on the nose. A light touch of CO2 on entry which made it cider-like but quickly followed by honey richness with Canada Grey apples providing freshness. Honey suckle flowers also and a sweet grapefruit acidity on the finish which gives a gently acidic finish. Still very tasty as it evolves into its twilight years...

  • This was superb over two days of drinking. Brilliant golden clarity. Rich quince and smoky toast aromas gave me a lot of pleasure before even taking a sip. Lively, bracing acidity with citrus rind notes yet counterbalanced with rich honey without being sweet and ending on a pebbly minerality. Wow! This has developed beautifully over the last few years, gaining depth and complexity and really showing it top class Jura pedigree. On the second night it tasted more like a late harvest Jurancon but without the sugar. The best qpr Chardonnay I have ever tasted.
