A wonderful sense of weightlessness on this wine, fresh strawberry and blueberry fruit with strong earthy elements. Zippy acidity and balanced tannin. This is somewhat floral, somewhat rustic, somewhat spicy. Really, really delicious. I want to drink this with a mushroom pizza, that would be awesome.

After-Hours (Fausse Piste Winery, Portland OR): This needed more airtime. Somewhat closed and austere when I tried it at first, it started opening up later in the evening. Great structure here, with plum and berry fruit, tobacco and earth. Racy acidity, and slightly-drying tannins.
