My last bottle was almost 2 years ago, and it was disappointing. This bottle (my last) is better but also definitely fading. Rosy red, translucent color. Floral notes on the nose with some red berries. Precise and detailed on the palate, strawberry, raspberry, warm spice. With air it became a bit primary. Fine tannins, acidity is a bit harsh after an initial impression of brightness. Good balance. Finishes moderately long with sharp cherry notes. Still quite nice but I think it's not long for this world. It started to fall apart in the glass after about 30 minutes. Drink up.

My last bottle was almost 2 years ago and it was lovely then. Not now. Dark red core with fading at rim. Reticent nose with a hint of violets. Bright fruit but a bit sharp, cherries. Fine tannins, overly acidic, bit out of balance. Finishes long but harsh. This fell apart quickly in the glass. I have 1 more bottle and I'll give it a try sometime soon. It's rare that a Walter Hansel Pinot wouldn't hold for this short a time.

Lovely nose of strawberries. Gorgeous fruit on the palate, cherries, deeply flavored strawberry. Bright and lively. Warm spices on the midpalate. Firm, fine tannins, bright acidity, great balance. Lush fruit on the finish. Drinking beautifully right now and I would say for at least another 3 to 4 years.

Cola, ripe black cherries, clove and other spices and a long finish. Solid wine. Went perfect with sous vide lamb shanks and a mushroom cream.
