Absolutely fantastic California riesling. Fresh tropical fruit, slight petrol, great balance, only slightly sweet but very delicious. This went great with our spicy asian meal. Great QPR!

Popped and poured. Synthetic cork. Light, pleasant honey lemon aroma. Complex, subtle and mutable flavors with elements of stone fruit, kumquat, petrol and minerals. Lingering mineral/peach finish. Racy, fairly dry with a bit of sweetness. World class and hits all the right notes.
Deserves at least a screw cap.

Chateau Montelena dinner with Brian Baker (Waterleaf Restaurant at College of DuPage): Light yellow color. Notes of honey, spice, pear, citrus, honeysuckle flowers and minerals. Flavors of melon, pear and minerals with a lovely tart citrus note on the finish and bright underlying acidity. Fresh and lively, made in a dry style. Theirs is a domestic Riesling I have enjoyed each of the few times I have tasted it, and the 2011 is no exception.
