Monday Night Football and Grand Cru (Chicago, IL): From half bottle. Quite dark and deeply influenced by botrytis. Intensely sweet and almost syrupy in texture, but surprisingly a good amount of acidity as well (we wondered if this had been acidified). Somewhat simplistic flavours as far as the fruit (it does feel like the fruit is starting to dry out a little bit), but readily enjoyable in small doses.

It's been 9 years since my last bottle and the wine has not lost a beat. It possessed a deep orange hue and a palate of a lush concentration of fruit and sugar and an unending finish. Nectar of the Gods.

Premium Wine Night - Fall 2016: Westchester Wine School (Bar Lees, Mamaroneck, NY): Finished off at our final WWS tasting of the Fall season. I've had this wine before and my notes are consistent. As always, drank blind and no one could guess. 100% botrytized viognier. Dark amber in the glass, honey and ripe apricots on the nose. Very viscous, very decadent. Rich apricots, orange marmalade, golden raising with perhaps a hint of butterscotch, some almonds, and quite vibrant acidity. Delicious and in a great place right now.

Deep orange/amber color with decadent flavors of apricot, honey and almonds. Nice acidity and no signs of decline.

Very good. Not too syrupy. Not exuberant either. Moderately sweet, with notes of citrus, caramel and toffee.
