Opens up with lots of barnyard notes on the nose. This is ripe for sure, the fruit is dark colored, like cherry fruit, there's some pomegranate and spices as well. Tannins are still marked, this is young. Could potentially work out ok long term but it will always be a bit like the clumsy boy in class.

Pop and pour at 70 deg F - ready to drink now. Nose is very nice - smooth elegant dusty fruity (cherry) with warm mild peppery spice. In the mouth balanced and well knit-together with roughly equal proportions of savory herbal notes, hints of metal-mineral, and red fruit (e.g. cherry) and light spices. Short to medium finish. 13% abv. Body medium minus, acid and tannin medium or medium minus. Very good QPR as tested USD 13.

Red cherry fruit with some nice underbrush nuances in a full, rich style - yet not over the top by any means. Perfectly correct for what it is, a simple, pleasing wine for a Saturday night in the cabin in Okemo with Susanne and Alex. Will live.

Garnet, though showing some signs of initial maturity. The nose and flavor profile are on the black fruit side of the Bordeaux spectrum. Ripe, sweet fruit mixed with a touch of wood, this is a very good, medium weight wine with decent if not outstanding length. Very good. (14.5)

Bright ruby to pink to clear. Cherry nose with a touch of corkiness – I think this is a bit affected but not badly. Otherwise there is a floral nose with a hint of vanilla. Good pinot stink. The odd smells seem to blow off with about 30 minutes of air – don’t really know what is going on here. Light bodied, but good intensity. Amazing depth for the appellation. This is a bit four square and certainly lacking in elegance, but you know what? This is a heck of a drink for 10 bucks. True pinot character, excellent persistence and except for the initial funk, a delight. Based on what I have tasted, I think Jadot did very well in 2003. (13?)
