Late night at Maison Dakota. Pop and poured. Drank over 45+mins. Drank in Grassl 1855. Appearance is clear, deep intensity, purplish ruby colour. Long legs. Nose is not toally clean, with atouch of barnyard earth, and then aromas of tar, graphite, black cherries, blackberries, black olives. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, high alcohol (15%), grippy high tannins, full body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of tobacco, graphite, tar, black cherries, blackberries, dark peppery spices, black olives, savoury meat emerging. Grippy long finish. Very good quality. Powerful with a touch of wildness character, yet with focused high acidity keeping it all in and lifted despite the ripeness. Already very good to drink, though I'm pretty sure this will age and develop over the next 4-5 years. Flagship bottle of the Domaine from Herve Bizeul. Apparently an equal parts blend of Syrah, Mourvedre, Grenache, and Carignan.

Second bottle on NYE! Really like the fruitiness but strong bodied flavour. Silky tannins with chocolate flavours. Strong finish! Will drink better in 1-3yrs!

Roussillon 2016 (Roussillon): 50% Syrah, 30% Grenache and 10% of Carignan and 10% Mourvedre full-bodied, layered and fantastically concentrated profile on the palate. Despite all of the richness here, it stays lively and fresh, with integrated acidity and sound underlying structure.

Lovely fruit nose with complex layers that keeps getting better over time. Long finish as well!
