  • 22 years old, this tastes like its in mid life. Well integrated, graphite, oak, a bit of dark fruit. Just great.

  • Love the way this wine showed tonight. Absolutely balanced and stunningly smooth. Did not decant because dinner was ready. Cherry and blueberry with red currant make this delicious spice, and fresh earth laced wonder a soft, caressing mouthful and a rich and layered mouth feel. Surprised me with its class.

  • In OC with the family, pre Easter dinner, drank this after Brewer Clifton Chard, and an 02 Beaux Freres. Decanted for about two hours, it benefits from air time. This is a wine you could linger over for several hours.

Inky purple color. Nose is dark cherry, anise, blackberry, coffee, and earth. Palate is rich with red/dark fruits, smoked meats. The merlot dominant blend gives it a plush mouthfeel without loosing the St Emilion sophistication. Long finish, big mouthfeel but still restrained.

This is a very nice wine, and unique as well. Michel Gracia is one of the more well known "Garagiste" wine makers in Bordeaux, which I understand makes him controversial. It also makes the wine more interesting...

  • Latour, Cos, Gracia, Pape Clement +++: Wow. On popping the cork, this was singing. Still, I put it in a decanter for an hour and then back to the bottle to breathe for a few more. It opened beautifully. This is drinking quite well right now. This is not as big as I might have thought (in a good way). Purple/ruby in color. The nose is dark cherries, cherries, spice, tobacco, and a bit of red licorice. On the palate, it is more deep than the nose with dark cherries, spice, and black raspberries, layered with earth and some charred qualities. Great balance. Light on its feet for all of its size. Long finish. Outstanding wine.
