  Very big blackberry fruit and some nice savory aspect to go with it; this has smoothed out beautifully. Really enjoyed it.

  Some of the reviews of the 06 found it a hot fruit bomb, but this 08 was not hot particularly. It was very bold and rich with a mouth coating thickness and a strong blueberry/blackberry fruitiness and more restrained oak and leather. I liked it for a rich wine that didn't need food although it was slightly better with the prosciutto/sweet pepper/mozzarella sandwich I had with it. As far as I could tell decanting didn't matter much as it was aggressive right out of the bottle, and similar on 2nd day after pump. I'll try my 2nd bottle in a couple of years.
