Second time tasting this in the past two months. Notes very similar. Beautiful amber color. Tastes young with the expected apricot and honey, but also with elegant floral overtones. The finish just lingers and lingers. The nose is very complex and mesmerizing. It was hard to put the glass down. Classic Barsac. I believe this wine is going to last a long time and is just beginning to hit its optimum drinking window. I can easily see this picking up another few points in five more years. Tasted at a Commanderie dinner paired with a 1988 Ch. Coutet, which, while very nice, was completely outclassed.

Lovely amber colour. It has an intriguing nose of dried apricot, honey and caramel. Smooth on palate. Sweet potatoes, mineral, peaches, apricot, yellow flowers etc. It has a really undoubtedly long and enjoyable finish with underlying acidity. No clumsy mouthfeel but a clean and neat ending. It actually reminds me of the 1967 Ch. d'Yquem and the 1961 Ch. Coutet. Sounds a bit old but that's the experience - complex and well presented and ready to drink. I would say it's still behind Ch. d'Yquem 1995 and 1996, but it's just behind as the first two are more fruity and youthful. I too expect it to evolve further into something like the 1959 Ch. Coutet which tastes more concentrated. This wine has the potential (fruit and acidity).

1989-2000 Top Bordeaux with Pizza (Schur House - Riverwoods IL): Fresh and dried apricot with hoycomb and crem brulee. Remaining half of a bottle that I opened a few months ago! Not quite as vibrant vs when first opened, but time in the refrigerator has barely hurt this.

Fresh and dried apricot with honeycomb and beeswax. Rich and opulent, just starting to evolve into something multi-dimensional. This has so much concentration that I am confident it will drink well for decades. So enjoyable now, but just still hinting at its full potential..

Still very young and fresh with notes of lanolin, honey, apricot, preserved lemon and lavender. It is intense and sweet but light on its feet. There’s outstanding volume in the mouth and length of flavour is fantastic.
