The wine is clear with a deep ruby colour and presence of legs. The nose is clean and in a developing stage, showing medium intensity aromas of blackberries, plums, blackcurrant leaf, liquorice, blood and hints of blue flowers. It's dry in the mouth with a medium refreshing acidity, high coarse tannins, medium alcohol, medium+ body and medium intensity flavours of blackberries, plums, liquorice and hints of blue flowers. Medium- finish. It's a good quality wine with a great tannic and acidic structure and some aromatic complexity, however it lacks fruit concentration in the mouth, and it does not have the concentration of fruit and legth required to be qualified as a better quality wine. Can drink now but can develop more complexity in the next 4-6 years, and it could be kept much longer due to its structure.

Midsummer weekend @ Sturköbaren; 6/23/2012-6/24/2012 (Sturkö, Sweden): Obvious cab franc on the nose - black currants witih green grass, fresh herbs and bell pepper. On the palate we get young fresh cool-climate fruit, tart acidity and slightly edgy green tannins. Needs food to play with, perhaps at its best served chilled with some dried sausage. About 50/50 tannat and cab franc.

Mellow colour; typical ruggedness;punchy, austere, a tad clunky; fruit fading. Drink up.

Improved over the evening, a little chalky, fruity, just felt like this was a little nondescript, nothing to draw me back. Drinkable, not memorable.

Good colour; straightforward, robust; vigorous, well structured, forward; best served slightly cool. Drink now & next 2 years.
