Slightly translucent in color. The nose is somewhat reticent at first but it opens up and shows some savory tones like tree bark, pine and menthol. Lighter bodied and soft. A mix of red and darker fruits. Slight earthy charred notes on the finish. We both enjoyed this one. I think we have one left that we will drink sooner rather than later.

Raspberry and plum fruit. Some earthiness and a definite savory accent. Not quite meaty, but almost. Finished with some pepper in the oak. I enjoyed the wine, and it was good with our pasta, but out on the edge of the Pinot profile.
8/13/2016 Tried it with a beef stew and it matched much better. Standalone there was serious pepper in the finish, but that paired well with the richness of the beef.
6/7/2018 Fruit is almost gone. Interestingly enough, my notes say this was restrained and more in the classic Burgundy style. So when I read my first note it seems like bottle time has pulled this closer to a Pinot profile.

Delicious ripe red cherry and raspberry notes on the nose and palate with a silky texture and moderate finish. Continues to drink well!
