  Slightly translucent in color. The nose is somewhat reticent at first but it opens up and shows some savory tones like tree bark, pine and menthol. Lighter bodied and soft.   Raspberry and plum fruit. Some earthiness and a definite savory accent. Not quite meaty, but almost. Finished with some pepper in the oak. I enjoyed the wine, and it was good with our pasta, but out on the edge of the Pinot profile.
  
  8/13/2016 Tried it with a beef stew and it matched much better. Standalone there was serious pepper in the finish, but that paired well with the richness of the beef.
  
  6/7/2018 Fruit is almost gone. Interestingly enough, my notes say this was restrained and more in the classic Burgundy style. So when I read my first note it seems like bottle time has pulled this closer to a Pinot profile.

  Delicious ripe red cherry and raspberry notes on the nose and palate with a silky texture and moderate finish. Continues to drink well!
