Dark but not opaque with a lovely cherry/raspberry with a few grace notes from light wood treatment. Light to medium bodied and above all graceful and elegant, with fine tannins and good acidity. The fruit is of excellent quality and the wine shows no signs of age. Intense, succulent finish. Clearly the maligned Bobal grape has suffered a bum rap!

- Crimsom color and aromas of plastic, bell pepper and black currant. It's balanced and has flavours of vanilla and diacetyl (butter) with a medium/full body. Oily texture with a medium finish.

Winemaker Notes: In Ponce’s view, this estate label is his benchmark because it spends the least time in neutral French oak, allowing it to showcase the health of the fruit and thus to indicate how the rest of his wines will behave in a given vintage. This vintage is a vibrant ruby color with purple highlights. The nose is alive with blueberry, red cherry, and a hint of banana. Manchuela’s red-clay soil speaks clearly on the attack, which features red plum, black cherry, cassis, and a touch of black pepper. The palate is medium-bodied, mildly tannic, and light on its feet.

Great wine from a very obscure grape.
