Stelvin closure, no dent. Good fill level, as expected. Popped and tasted over 3h.
V: translucent garnet, suggesting significant evolution. N: super ripe nose, maybe stems. Some eucalypt notes on second smell. P: weirdly compelling and different for someone who generally prefers european syrah to aussie shirazes, save for a few traditional styled bottlings like Tahbilk. This has a weird duality of ripeness and fullness on the attack, but then finishes super savoury, almost like another wine. Very interesting evolution and difficult to say if i would have liked this younger, but it’s really full of interest now. Full peacock’s tail finish, if lacking a bit of length. Solid.
Drink or hold, uncertain about benefit of holding longer besides curiosity. 13% abv

Burgundian style with struck match character more usually seen on Chardonnay.
So savoury mixed with some sweet fruit. I’d prefer that fruit were a little less sweet, so breathing is recommended - it was better on the 2nd night.
13%, screwcap.

Super Shiraz Tasting (Prince Wine Store - Bank Street): Dusty earth and capsicum nose with delicate berry and a ripe red cherry palette with soft fresh herbs.
