Well made wine, fine structure, integrated tannins. Fruit has dissipated leaving a chewy savory core. Without the fruit, the alcohol is showing itself excessively. This is the risk with big-boy Paso wines, IMHO.

Although this is 95% Grenache & 5% Syrah, it drinks almost the opposite. Very rich and intense fruit up front of plum and blackberries. Creamy texture to it with a very nice mid-palate of licorice, earth, white pepper, and some mineral notes. Definitely not your typical Grenache profile. Nice long finish on the end, well done.

Perhaps the best bottle of grenache we've ever tasted. Rich, outstandingly fruity and chocolaty. We tried our first bottle of this several years ago; sadly this was our only bottle, but it's now fully mature, so drink up if you have it. Only fault is that the 16% alcohol content shows, it'll numb your lips a bit. But my wife was just over the moon over it anyway.

A bit too rich and over-the-top for me, with a candied aspect that caused the ripe red fruit to be out of balance.
