Initially, there was quite a bit of oak on the nose, which thankfully blew off. Good acidity balanced out the citrus and other fruit flavors. Delicious.

taste: has a fatter feel with richer tones of stone fruits, tart citrus tones, and some bits of lemons and smoke. Excellent medium/high acidity that gives it a nice backbone
overall: Has a meursault-like feel to it, but with a puligny style to it as well. Good depth on both the nose and palate, this needs a bit of time before its fully ready

This is not bad, just not as intense as the '05. The aroma and taste are correct -- granite and white fruit. The acidity is there. It's just a bit dilute in the palate with little follow through on the finish. Of course, this is the second disappointing '07 white Burg I've had in as many days. After all I've read about the vintage, maybe I'm just having a bad week.

Fine Vines Fall Grand Tasting (OneSixtyBlue, Chicago IL): nose: succulent and tart nose of stone fruits, minerals, citrus tones, and a touch of smoke on the nose. Good depth with good focus on the nose as well
