Mid August 2018: pale yellow color; intense peach plus lemon and apple aromas/flavors; surspringly smooth and mild on the palate, only slightly acidic; medium/full body.

Ripe fruit and earth, quite herbal and a bit astringent on the finish. Solid wine, solid Schlossberg, good weight but without the real class of an Erstes Gewächs; a bit dull rather.

Vinolok. Interesting but a-typical nose of herbs and (even) vegetables; light to medium weight, displays the plumptious fruit that characterises the vineyard, ripe lemon and sweet pear, attractive freshness but light structure; nice minerality on the finish, but there is also a slight bitterness from the skins that I find a bit distracting. Probably a wine to be enjoyed sooner rather than later, not really at ease with itself.
