Showing its age, but still wonderfully rich and savory, if not a little over-oxidized. Balanced out over the course of the meal. Enjoyed with Wood Ranch barbecue the night before Thanksgiving. Don't judge.

Last minute purchase to enjoy at a local "bring your own" Italian restaurant. Full bodied with flavors of dark berries. Enjoyed with a 2006 Casanova di Neri(94 points) that outclassed the young Valdicava.

Only had time for a 45 minute decant then back in bottle, which wasn't nearly enough. Very tight initially, opened a bit during dinner.

A private tasting hosted by Honest Grapes (Durrants Hotel, London): On first taste, this was massively volcanic, and I thought it might even be an Aglianico. Softened significantly over time. A bit dense and heavy. £68/btl
