Old Guys lunch on Tilia's lovely patio. In attendance CV/DM/JV/TS/SS/LI/KB. Great weather, great food & lots of laughs. Kevin's btl. I last had one of these in August 2017 and liked that btl quite a bit more. Somehow today's didn't standout for me? Elegant Chassagne as expected but not inspirational, for me.

Old Guys Lunch: Hittin' the Patio Again (Tilia, Mpls): Pale gold color. Drank a glass over 2 hours. Really nice nose, Meyer lemon, saline, lime blossoms, pear, stone and custard, dried earth notes and gunflint. The palate has nicely crisp acidity, elegance, citrus, pear and dried apples on the back end, limestone minerality and gunflint wth a little oak spice.

A quite muted nose that even a decant and an hours breathing didn’t change much. Palate was much better. Powerful fruit coupled with very crunchy acidity and absolute length to burn made me wish I had left this for another 5 years. Still a bit adolescent I think.

Acid and mineral stands front and center. Oak is present but not overbearing with the fruit taking a backseat. 1 hr of air didn't move the needle. Could use a few more yrs to integrate in hopes the acid and mineral components calms down.
