Weekly tasting group #149; Simply Red (A mixed set) (@ CvR): Menthol, ripe berries and sweet licorice in the bouquet. On the palate ripe red Berry fruits, cherries, bell pepper and some sweetness. Some minerals. Firm acidity and slightly sticky tannin. In a completely blind tasting very hard to place. Certainly a correct wine.

{screwcap, 14%}Bright ruby red. Fresh, youthful and pretty-much oak-free nose of tobacco and bright cherries. Typically chewy palate, only with soft dusty tannins, but enough crunchy acidity for some freshness; almost medium-bodied weight. Sweet fruit, but dry on its short-medium finish. Decent short-term wine.
