A light, not quite balanced barolo. Over a few hours in the decanter, it never could quite find its footing. Very drinkable, but missing the wow factor. Improved paired with food.
Paid $83 for the bottle *shrug*

From a Magnum, decanted 2 hours. Single-vineyard from an MGA in Serralunga. Med garnet. Pronounced aromas of red cherry, black plum, dried rose, violets, dried herbs, tobacco, leather, tar, and earth. Aged 3 yrs in large Slavonian and French oak casks, and 1 more year in bottle before release. Dry but with generous fruit. Med+ acidity, med+ but polished tannins and med+ alcohol (13.5%). Full-bodied, with pronounced flavor intensity and length but still quite lively, with several years left. WS 95.

Color of orangish/red, bricking to a watery rim, unsurprising for Nebbiolo grape but ahead of schedule. Fragile, nearly imperceptible nose of faded dried violets and winery smells, another hint of premature age. Medium (-) bodied palate; acidity is in range, but fruit is a second order impact. Earthiness, medium finish. Honestly, a bit disappointing - recognizable as Barolo and drinkable, but those are its primary attributes, other than a lack of flaws. Best with relatively rich food (meats) as a counterpoint, and better sooner than later.

Very nice aroma and color. Light look but deep feel. Aged quality. Drinking well now. Hint of fruit gets better at the end after an hour in the glass. Increased my score by two points, to 95 after the glass decant.

Beautiful brownish red color, acidic, aged nose, thin but long finish. Nice.
