Drank w/out food. Good, but still pretty tannic & fruit hasn't started to develop too much yet (drank this alongside a 2001 Epeneaux from Pommard). This is pleasant on the palette, beneath the tannins, but it comes up w/ less goods than what the nose was advertising.

Most of the wines in this lineup were disappointing. This Villero 2008 was a bit better than the Oddero Gallina 2008. Already in advanced state, macerated fruit, dried fruit, high alcohol, although still drinkable with some soy sauce. The primary fruit is gone.

An absolute pleasure to drink. Dark cherry and boysenberry aromas, earthy, still lively but velvety tannins. Great length and good acidity. At its peak right now, but still a bit of life ahead. We decanted it just 30 minutes before drinking (spontaneous decision) and have it a good shake in the decanter. Wonderful with lamb and porcini.

Pretty generic red wine. I'm not sure if I would have pegged this for Nebbiolo.

Excellent wine. Fresh, but tertiary flavors coming through. Tannins are still there. Dry. Delicious though. Cheers!
