I was not expecting much based on the other ratings by CT members; however, I was quite pleasantly surprised by this wine. It has beautiful fruit and spice on the nose, and the palate is initiates with a fresh dollop of fruit and acid, followed in the mid by a very smooth, integrated richness, and then finishes very long with silky tannins in balance with the rest of the wine and lingers on and on.
Lighter than expected red/brown in color, transparent. Nose of red berries, fresh tar, hint of orange, cut flowers. On the palate - cherries, spices, still notable tannins and a refreshing acidity. Very nice old school Barolo. Delicious on day one - expecting improvement for day 2.
clear, red, orange, slight hints of brown in the color. mocha, red fruit, cocoa, floral, on the nose. delicious aroma. cherry, oak, pepper, cocoa, berry, on the palate. medium acid and tannins on this lingering finish.
Color is bright light red. Very translucent. Nose is classic tar and roses. Palate is slightly astringent backed up by cherry and maybe a little strawberry. This strikes me as built for the near term as it drinks nicely now. A little dose of tannin but nothing that needs fifteen years to resolve. 04 Barolo was a little like 05 Bordeaux. difficult to screw up!
