1 hour decant, very bright acidic raspberry note dominated the entry for the first 1/2 glass, but it opened up & balanced out nicely with some plumb, fig, and peppery notes, and by the end was singing in harmony with a bit of earth and bacon on the finish. I’d drink now, but give it a longer decant.

Dark and inky red color. Nose was combination of dark berries, earth and animal notes. Palate showing brambly black cherry, savory meats, pepper, licorice, black olives. Mid palate showing some underbrush and smoke. Full bodied, long finish.
Our group was split on this one, given the style its not for everyone. This is best paired with grilled meat or foods with strong/savory flavors. This is an interesting wine, big and brooding combination of 50% Syrah and 50% Grenache (split sources). Its in a good zone now and should be for another 3-5 years

Felt a bit primary, probably could have used a few more years to let more subtle flavors through. Most bring berry and floral tones, this was highly enjoyable, long and smooth - just a touch less complex than most of the Tensley offerings I have enjoyed.

Impromptu pre-Easter dinner and wine w/Jeoron, Isobel, Max, Francesca, Chiemi, Tom (Chez Walker - Princeton, NJ): From a magnum purchased at the tasting room around release, in my cellar since. Decanted about 2 hours prior to drinking, seemed it needed to loosen up.

Phenomenal. Layered and complex. Wonderful nose and lucious fruit on the palate.
