Translucent, medium-deep cherry red color. Supple, ripe and a bit earthy nose with aromas of dark fruits, sous-bois, some aromatic root vegetables and a hint of dried prunes. Full-bodied, supple and quite rich palate with balanced acidity and quite smooth and easy tannins. Juicy flavors of ripe dark fruit, peppery spice, earth, some dark cherry, a little savory wood and a hint crunchy dark berries. Quite rich and somewhat complex but a bit short-ish finish with brooding, savory flavors of juicy, dark berries, some woody bitterness, a little peppery spice and hints of plum.
An elegant, supple and balanced Blaufränkisch that is thoroughly enjoyable on its own. Although it does not show much aged character, its structure has resolved pretty much, leaving a very smooth and velvety red wine behind. Initially the wine was a bit vague and anonymous and it took some time for the wine to get its game together - decanting recommended. Most likely peaking now and will keep for some years, but definitely not in need of further aging. Worth its price at 17,99€.

Black and red fruits, a complex and inviting nose. More pronounced than last time, definitely a fruit day. Mid palate is refined, elegant, finish with lots of structure and tannin. Still youthful. Drink now (just opened at that) but still has years left in the bottle.

Weekly tasting group RWP #268: 10 completely different wines fully blind (@ RW): Blood red and not extremely concentrated. In the bouquet red berries, some spiciness and smoke. On the palate red berries, smoke and chocolate. Herbs and red fruit acidity. Very ok wine.

Red cherry and blue fruits on the nose. Quite dense and structured on the palate. Just opened, needs time to open up?
