This wine evolved over time as we tasted it. It began bright and a bit musky. Then it slowly changed as the dominant grape, Pinot Noir, showed through and the wine mellowed and became smooth and elegant. It was delicious.

A private dinner at a friend's (London, UK): Disgorged May 2015. Richly red fruited, not as subtle and refined as the Clos Cazals obviously, more earthy than chalky, but it is full-bodied and flavoursome and the long lees ageing adds a lovely complexity (but not austerity), good length.

La Fête du Champagne Grand Tasting (Pier Sixty - New York NY): Walk around tasting. On the mature/ maturing side for the 2002 vintage with berry character throughout. Good length. Good now, limited upside.
