Slightly cloudy mid garnet. sweet fruited, more decayed, slightly volatile nose. Similar on palate, very sweet fruited, slightly volatile, a slightly musty edge to it as it breathes, but it retains a nice balance and some energy. Mature and pleasurable. ****

Fourrier Griottes pre-Jean-Marie (The Ledbury, London): Another one that the sommelier questioned, perhaps because of the medicinal tone to the nose, which I found edgy, fresh and bracing and behind it was sweet red fruit, very pinot, gently gorgeous
