Matured bouquet. Stewed plums with fresh tomatoes, toasted clove, dry thyme and old leather. The palate is salty with intense sweet blue fruits, tomato juice, dried red chilli and undergrowth. Full-bodied structure. Finish is deep and powerful, just a touch one dimensional, compared the better vintage like 2005. Ready to drink now and for the next 3 years.

Savory red fruit with green pepper, black olive, and a savory iodine note on the finish. This wine is a little heated on the finish. Roasted cashew kind of comes out in the middle. Definitely a rather unique wine compared to the others on the table. I'm always rather intrigued by these aged Barossa wines. These Shiraz really can get quite funky and this one is right at the limit for me. Round on the finish with good resolving tannins. I think this one is a little interesting...but something tells me this one had a little heat exposure or early oxidation of some type.

Black raspberry, sweet tobacco, stewed plums, violets, black pepper, fig. Fragrant. Medium-plus body. Medium acidity. Medium-light, velvety tannins. Long finish. Probably at or (maybe) just slightly past peak, but so delicious now. Went well with steak.

Good wine, showing good typicity, quite advanced at ~8 years old but still nuanced and nice to drink. Not my personal favorite in terms of style - it is very very ripe, showing good typical aussie fruit and spice. If you taste this wine blind and identify it as Syrah there is only one country where this could come from. Lots of prune, fig, raisin, chocolate, fruit liqueur, sweet fruit syrup, etc. Fine wine if this is what you like. I think it lacks definition but it is undeniably bursting with flavour.

Extremely terroir driven, typical old school barossa, black pudding, blood, geranium, some sweetness, great mouthfeel, fine tannins, very nice!
