  • 2001 Bordeaux (Lavandou): Nice supple mouthfeel, bordering between waxy and light, a nice spot for a Chassagne. It has some heft and permanence on the finish but could use more complexity and ease on its feet. Hopefully it will develop with more time. 92-93

  • Medium gold color. Exceedingly complex nose, with good minerality and plenty of ripe fruits-- golden apples, mangoes and nutmeg. Very rich and well balanced on the palate. Good blend of yellow fruits and honey, hazelnuts and some more mature, almost tropical notes, yet balanced by good acidity. Very, very long finish. Fully mature.

  • Tasted double blind. Aromas of smoky pear and mineral, with a subtle almond tone. Well-integrated oak, with flavors of pear and smoke.

  • Pale greenish-yellow color. Was simple and lemony on opening, but opened up beautifully after an hour of air. Grilled almonds, butter, lemons, golden raisins and lime aromas filled a rich and complex nose. Full palate, with lemons, nuts, pears, butter and minerals on the attack. The mid-palate is jiucy and fresh, and the wine finishes ripe and round, with lingering nutty/honey notes. Good acidity, yet round and full.
