Medium gold color. Light tangerine, buttered toast, and a bit of cream on the nose. Similar notes to the nose with notes of lightly toasted tangerine peel, cream, and a orange citrus finish.

Gets away with a fair amount of oaky vanilla because it is balanced with rich tropical and pit fruit flavors. As benefits the vintage, this is a little less of a powerhouse than other year, but very much a Cali chard.

PnP from refrigerator -- this took its time to show well -- decant or at least warm this wine from fridge temp. Cloudy straw yellow in color, with aromas of oak/butter, mushroom, and fig. Well-balanced, with potent acidity, leading to a long and somewhat complex finish. However, this lacks fruit at this price point. I preferred this more than my wife. This will appeal to lovers of oaky cali chards, but I was left wanting more fruit. As this was my first Lewis chard, I wonder if the lack of fruit is an indication of the cool 2011 vintage or the producer.

classic Lewis Chardonnay; nice acid but plenty of body to this chardonnay; perhaps not as "big" as typical Lewis style, which I found enjoyable. Should age nicely.

A heavily oaked chardonnay that has a long finish and with hints of apricot, honeysuckle, and smoke on the nose. Beautifully balanced and the alcohol content is what I've come to expect from a Napa Valley chardonnay.
