Amazing, almost over ripe aromas of pineapple, grilled apricot, ash, petrol and dried herbs. Concentrated yet ebullient, expressive and fresh. I'd say volcanic but honestly I have no idea. However the palate falls flat. Low acid, creamy and a bit stunted. The alcohol is noticeable as it warms. There is a salinity that intrigues. At this price I can't complain. Would happily drink again.

Mini flight tasting of the 2012 and 2013. '12 has waned significantly on the nose, with fruit further in the background; '13 still has waxy aromas of honey, pineapple, flint and salt. On the palate the acidity and fruit in '12 has faded a bit as well, but they're still kicking it in the '13, with a decent thickness and fresh notes of oranges, lemon, gray pear and stone.
The '12 is on its way out but the '13 is a nice food wine, with great QPR, not to be kept any longer.

Faint whiff of stuffiness on the nose, otherwise flint, grapefruit, white pepper. On the palate a mix of grapefruit, zucchini, salt, ripened Brie cheese. Medium+ complexity, waning acidity, a bit all over the place, but intriguing. Will compare next bottle to the 13 vintage.

Old vines, well made - very good value, but not a style I particularly admire.
