Simple light cherries with strong tannins that disrupt the balance, and a simple yet pleasant finish. Like other recent bottles this wine has passed its peak and the time to drink these is now.

Popped and poured. Beautiful nose of red fruit, smoke and leather. Nice dark cherry and plum fruit profile with notes of tobacco and earth. The finish is a little short with smooth tannins. This was probably better a couple of years ago but is still very nice and represents an excellent QPR.

This wine is still amazing, sixteen years later. Plush with plenty of fruit.

Surprisingly enjoyable and fruit-forward! Much more so than when I had this in 2009. Bernard enjoyed it again :-)
