Night Two in Paris (La Tour D'Argent): Our host thought he had grabbed a 2009, the first of this cuvee, but the 2011 was very approachable. Inviting nose with classic aromatics: raspberries, blackberries and spice, balanced and expressive. On the palate, it was very earthy, with minerals and saline dominating alongside notes of menthol and mocha. Light-bodied and delicious.
2011 DRC Tasting (Paris, France): Subtle, but pronounced nose of wet stone, chalk, some spice and stems along with fresh red fruit. Lighter in color. Tight red fruit on the palate that starts with a pop of red fruit and spice then fades quickly. Not much depth, but the spice and grip are charming. Some black fruit as well. Somewhat tannic finish that is medium at best.
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 2011 (St. Gallen): Classic nose, raspberries, blackberries, delicately spicy, balanced and expressive. On the palate light-bodied, almost empty in the center, but with grip and presence on the sides of the mouth. Ferrous and mineral, saline and with rhubarb. The least special of the lot. Very good nonetheless...

Ernster,männlicher, trotzdem seidig, knackig, gute Säure, trockenere Gerbstoffe schon fast leicht staubig. Langer dunkelfruchtiger , trocknender Abgang
