The more affordable wine of this Domaine, Cuveé Duvault-Blochet is an assemblage of younger vines from Grand Crus vineyards.
This special cuveé is dedicated to the legendary winemaker Jacques-Marie Duvault-Blochet, who bought DRC and La Tache and created DRC.
In depth, very perfumed, rich and sexy, signature DRC style. Sweet fruits and herbal vibes, sublime DRC spices and creamy edge. Subtle flavours. Very approachable now with soft tannins, adequate acidity and good intensity.
A good DRC introduction. Compared with La Tache 08.

Dinner at Ma Cuisine (Beaune): All red fruit with plenty of spice. Very forward and pleasant today, this shows a charming young vines lower intensity to me. Moderate depth.

Drank over 3 hours. Very closed on the nose and never really opened. Light and airy spice and dark fruit notes on the palate. Smooth with outstanding balance but very little depth.

Young but accessible. It showed some cracked pepper, dried flowers and red fruits on the nose. It was exquisitely balanced in the mouth, with deliciously perfumed and crunchy berry fruits that went a little blue with air. Texture was lacy and the wine crackles with energy right through the minerally finish.

La Ferme de la Ruchotte: Wines with Lunch (Bligny sur Ouche - Burgundy): Red cherry and berry throughout with slightly sweet spice. Great balance, moderate weight and length.
