Subtle and delicate with whiffs of white flowers, chalk, toast and citrus. It is compact and linear in the mouth but lacks no richness. There’s excellent rocky detail and outstanding cut.

Ripe lemon and apple with nice mineral backbone. Little bit of fatness and a small amount of oak spices. Marc Colin makes fairly lean and steely wines, which seems to be a good choice in somewhat heavy and unbalanced vintages such as 2011.

Weekly tasting group #169; South Africa vs France (@ The factory by MN): Not so very expressive bouquet with white fruits, minerals and grasses. On the palate an elegant wine with white fruits, minerals, a touch of sweetness but also firm citrus acidity and bitterness. Ready now and the next few years.

Tour - Burgundy 2013; 5/14/2013-5/20/2013 (Burgundy, France): Bouquet pear, apple. Taste elegant, soft, butter finish. Host said this was a good wine with fish or as an aperitif. Tasted in Burgundy at Caveau in Chassagne-Montrachet in flight of 4 wines. $22 / bottle. Good price.
